Both domestic and commercial upholstered furniture must, by law, be fire retarded or comply with stringent fire regulations. As well as fire retardancy, upholstered furniture can be treated with a cocktail of chemicals including stain resistance, fungicides and insecticides. We regularly get calls from our customers

who find they cannot tolerate thir new sofa or their new carpets.

 

Yesterday's article in The Sunderland Echo alerts us to a particular treatment found on some leather furniture. This treatment, known as a fumarate - to prevent mould growth, - has been found to cause violent reactions in both humans and pets. To read the article please click here.
