Dust Mite Proof Bedding

How soundly do you sleep at night?

Dust mites can be a major trigger for rhinitis, wheezing and sneezing. Dust mite proof bedding can be used in conjunction with dust mite proof barrier cases for double the protection.

Dust mite proof bedding is designed specifically to help with symptoms of dust mite allergy. Using dust mite proof bedding will reduce your exposure to the allergens, and therefore reduce associated symptoms like sneezing and wheezing. Wake up refreshed and energised after a sound night’s sleep.

Dust mite proof barrier cases are a ‘must have’ for anyone suffering from dust mite allergy. They are naturally dust mite proof because of the density of the weave. This creates an effective barrier between the dust mites in your bedding and you in your bed. The barrier cases have a long zip down one side. This makes them as easy as possible to take on and off and an extra zip flap for added protection. The barrier cases are generously sized. They are available either in pure unbleached cotton or a soft white polyester microfibre.

It is important to encase your mattress. This will have become populated with dust mites and their allergens by the time it is 6 months old. It is also important that your pillows and duvet are dust mite proof. You can do this by encasing your pillows and duvet with dust mite proof barrier cases. Alternatively you can choose to replace your pillows and duvet with ones that are dust mite proof.

Dust mite proof pillows and duvets are available with synthetic or natural fillings. It is the density of the casing material that prevents them from becoming populated by dust mites. Some other pillows and duvets are suitable for dust mite allergy. They need to be washed to keep them dust mite free.

We’ve selected these items of bedding as they block out the mites, reducing your exposure to their allergens. If you think you may have dust mite allergy, please consult your GP.
