HEPASilent® technology filters remove particles that cause breathing issues
The HEPASilent® technology allows the Blueair air purifier to use less dense filter media. This means it will achieve the same or even better efficiency than air purifiers using traditional HEPA filters. With high airflow and high efficiency, HEPASilent® delivers more clean air and gives a better indoor air quality. It is ideal for the removal of dust mite debris, household dust, pet allergen, mould spores, bacteria and some viruses.

A robust steel casing removes any negative impact of plastics
The Blueair 203PA air purifier casing is made from galvanized steel. It is tough enough for the most challenging environments. It is also beneficial for those who suffer from issues with plastics.
Extremely quiet operation is great for both work and living environments
The Blueair 203 technology allows for an incredibly quiet operation. This means it won’t impact at all on a work environment, a living room environment or even in the bedroom. It will simply sit unnoticed doing its job to improve your environment as you live, work and sleep.
The Blueair 203PA will clean the air in a room up to 37m2 at 3 air changes per hour
The HEPA air purifier will easily filter the air in your room size up to 37m2 3 times an hour on the high setting. This will differ from the information on the box since Blueair rate their machines at 5 air changes per hour. The Healthy House® recommends their air purifiers based on a minimum of 3 air changes per hour.

HEPASilent® technology unites the best in electrostatic and mechanical filtration. The combination of advanced filter media and an encapsulated particle charging chamber ensures that Blueair air purifiers deliver the best results. These results are far superior than either mechanical or electrostatic technology alone. Even on the lowest setting, HEPASilent® air purifiers capture 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.1 micron in size.
Millions of ultra-thin fibers of different sizes and layers are interwoven. this creates the progressive filter design. Locking in particles at different stages the captured particles are never released back. They are retained even when filters are heavily loaded. The early layers capture larger particles like pollen and dust. Later filter layers capture smaller bacteria and exhaust particles.
The HEPASilent® particle filtration technology consists of two steps :
1 Charging section for incoming particles.
2 Trapping section for charged particles.
In the first step, an ionizer (a high voltage module) fills a chamber with negative ions. Incoming particles will then collide with the ions. These transfer their energy to the particles, giving the particles a negative electrostatic charge.
In the second stage, a gradient structured synthetic filter traps the charged particles. The filtration effect in the media is a combination of mechanical and electrostatic forces.
Bigger particles (>1 micron) are trapped mainly due to mechanical forces. Smaller particles (<1 micron) are mainly trapped with electrostatic forces.
A traditional filtration media is good at capturing big particles such as dust and pollen. Pollen can vary from 10-100 microns and dust about 1-10 micron. These large particles are easily trapped by the filter media fibers like mosquitoes trapped in a mosquito net. It offers a filtration efficiency of up to 100%. Smaller particles, less than 1 micron, penetrate the filter media. They are so small they can follow the airflow around the filter fibers and exit on the back side of the filter. The result is a low filtration efficiency.
By giving the particles an electrostatic charge, the filtration efficiency for small particles increases. When the charged particles comes near a filter fiber, an attraction force emerge between the particles and the fiber. The particles move towards the fiber and stick to its surface, instead of following the airflow stream through the filter.
An example of the effect of the HEPASilent® filtration system is shown in fig. 3. When the electrostatic force is added to the mechanical filtration the filtration efficiency for smaller particles will increase. It is possible to use different combinations of charging sections and filter media to get desired filtration efficiency and fig. 1 shows one of the possible options.
Replacing the filters
Blueair recommends changing your filters every 6 months to maintain efficiency. A filter change indicator is included in the Blueair air purifiers. Take a look at our Filter Replacement Service tab for peace of mind.
Material compostion
Manufactured from polypropylene, an environmentally responsible synthetic material. It ultimately breaks down into carbon dioxide and water. The filters will only capture mould particles from the air, never grow their own, as they are a naturally antibacterial material.
Filter Replacement Service
Whether you purchase air purifiers, dehumidifiers or water filters, or any of their replacement parts we offer you peace of mind. We will add your name to our reminder service. In accordance with the manufacturers’ guidelines we will send you a gentle reminder that your unit may need replacement parts. Maintaining its efficiency will continue providing you a healthier environment.
We will be able to supply you with your required replacements. We maintain stock levels of filters and cartridges even after a manufacturer may bring the original unit to an end. This means our customers can rest assured of our commitment to servicing their requirements long into the future.
If you do not wish to be included in our service then we can simply unsubscribe you. Similarly, if you have not purchased the units or replacements from us before you may ask to be included in our service for future use.
With best wishes
