They also comply with all animal welfare regulations.

Euroquilt - Duck Feather and Down
Did you know many people mistakenly believe they are allergic to down and feathers when they are actually reacting to either dust mites or bacteria within a filling?
Our natural handmade duvets and pillows from Euroquilt are ideally suited for allergy sufferers, as they are both dust mite and feather proof. They are all Oeko-Tex Standard 100, with Nomite certified cases, which guarantees that the tightness of the weave creates a barrier for dust mites and protection for you.
Euroquilt Duck Feather and Down Duvets and Pillows
The duck feather and down mix make it an economical choice for most budgets while still giving you the feeling of quality and luxury.
These really cosy and warm duck feather and down duvet contains a blend of 85% small fine white feathers and 15% fluffy white high loft down. The larger amount of duck feathers is ideal for people who prefer a slightly heavier duvet. The duvet is encased in a 100% cotton cambric cover, with a thread count of 233. The casing is double stitched and piped with a box wall case to ensure an even spread of filling through the duvet. The 70% duck feather and 30% Down pillow is encased in a 100% Cotton percale cover also with a thread count of 233. The casing is double stitched and has a piped edging.
They are also Downafresh certified which ensure the down fillings conform to the strictest hygiene standards (and have been thoroughly sterilised through washing) and comply with all animal welfare regulations.
The box walled duvets come with two different sizes of boxing (or pockets) with the smaller boxes used for lower tog duvets and the larger pockets used on 9 tog and above. This ensures the correct ratio of filling is distributed evenly throughout the duvet to make sure a full loft is achieved.
Day to day care of your duvet requires gentle shaking to re-loft the duvet and to ensure the product is well aired to maintain a dry and comfortable sleep experience. Dry any liquid spills immediately and thoroughly. Please see care Instructions tab for more details.

Daunasan® and Downafresh® are trademarks of the registered Association of the European Bedfeather and Bedding Industries documenting that the filling material complies with the European standard EN 12935 (“feather and down – hygiene and cleanliness requirements“). Companies using these brands have the down and feathers they process tested at a hygiene laboratory and document the origin and processing of the filling material.
Bedding products marked with the Downafresh brand are filled with feathers and down that were previously washed with water and dried at temperatures of at least 100°C. Hence, bedding products which carry the Downafresh label meet the hygienic requirements laid down in the European standard EN 12935.
Feathers and down are a product of nature. They are produced according to strict statutory provisions and originally do not contain any harmful substances. Their natural properties – they weigh little and keep you comfortably warm without burdening you – make for outstanding heat insulation. They are thus the perfect filling material for bedding products.
By means of a documentary traceability system it is established that the filling material was gathered in conformity with current animal welfare legislation.
During the processing only environment-friendly cleaning agents are applied which preserve the natural properties of the feathers and down. At the end of the product life cycle the filling material can easily be recycled.
The producers who use the Downafresh® label have undertaken to have their products regularly tested by an independent testing laboratory to ensure that they meet the requirements for hygiene and cleanliness.
Just because you have dust mite allergy you needn’t sacrifice the comfort and durability of down and feather bedding.
In fact, the conditions created by down and feather bedding are not conducive to dust mite survival and reproduction. This makes them an ideal choice for people with house dust mite allergy.
NOMITE certified bedding also has an extremely tightly woven fabric cover, creating a physical barrier between you and the dust mite. This can help to relieve allergy symptoms associated with exposure to house dust mites and their faeces.
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100
How can you ensure that the textile product you are buying is free from harmful substances and chemical treatments?
If you have allergies or multiple chemical sensitivity, this may be a question you ask yourself frequently. Thankfully, there are a number of independent certifications that can offer you reassurance.
One of these is the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. This is an independent certification, established in 1992. The aim of this certification is to show that a textile product (from bedding to clothing) poses no risk to your health.
When you buy a product with the OEKO-TEX® label, you can be reassured that it is kind to your skin, free from harmful chemical treatments. It is a vigourous testing process which gives you peace of mind, so you can buy textiles with confidence.
The closer a textile product comes to your skin, the stricter the requirements it must fulfil.
The certification goes above and beyond existing legislation, forbidding chemicals which are known to be harmful to health but not officially banned. All in all, the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 is a great quality seal to look for when you’re shopping for clothing or bed linen, particularly if you have chemical sensitivity or skin allergies.
OEKO-TEX® certified materials are internationally and scientifically tested. The OEKO-TEX® logo certifies excellent human ecology. Strict testing and controlling parameters assure a constant high quality of the products. Working together with notable testing institutes, a fully integrated quality control system has been developed.
Whilst some finished products are certified, other products are made up of only certified materials. This means that the product itself has not been tested but the components have been tested and certified. Since there is a fee for all certifications, it is usually the products that are supplied and manufactured by smaller companies that have the individual components tested but not the finished product. We have given the specifications on these products as Oeko-tex standard because there are only Oeko-tex certified materials used.
Sometimes we are asked why a particular product does not have a label on it to say that it is Oeko-tex standard. Again it is usually the larger manufacturers who provide labels on their products because the price of producing labels for individual products can be prohibitive for smaller manufacturers – it would also have to be reflected in a higher retail price.
We are always happy to answer questions about the certifications of the products we offer, so please do not hesitate to contact us if you need verification.
PROFESSIONAL LAUNDERING (Not Dry Cleaning) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
If your washing machine cannot accommodate your duvet / pillow with enough space to ensure that items are rinsed sufficiently, we recommend professional laundering (not dry cleaning).
Washing smaller duvets and pillows:
Machine wash at 40oC on a gentle cycle using a small amount of mild detergent. Do not use fabric conditioner, bleaching agents or optical whiteners. These agents will damage or coat the down clusters and fibres and reduce their insulating and loft properties.
Tumble dry on low to medium heat using two dryer balls or tennis balls. Tumble dry for short periods of time; take out, shake, repeat. Continue until you are sure the item is completely dry. Do not air dry as moisture can be retained deep inside the duvets and pillows which can lead to mustiness.
DO NOT LEAVE DUVET OR PILLOW WET OR DAMP
No ironing, no mangling or hot pressing and no chemical additives.
Pillows are a stock item
