Summer weight to keep you cool on warmer nights
The Spundown duvets are beautifully light and soft and in the summer weight version, keep you comfortable on warm summer nights.
Smartfil® advanced fibre technology for easy washing
The unique feature of the Spundown products is that the filling is highly compressible, which means that even a super king size can be washed in a domestic washing machine. This duvet dries quickly – simply hang on a drying rack and it should dry within the day.
Microfibre filling and microfibre polyester cover
Unlike most of our other duvets, the Spundown duvets have a peachskin microfibre cover and a polyester filling. It is ideal if you cannot tolerate feathers and do not want to go to the expense of an organic cotton duvet.
Washable at 60°c to prevent dust mites
By washing the duvet at 60°c you can keep it dust mite free. Water disolves the allergenic faeces of the dust mite and washing this duvet at 60°c kills the dust mite.
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100
How can you ensure that the textile product you are buying is free from harmful substances and chemical treatments?
If you have allergies or multiple chemical sensitivity, this may be a question you ask yourself frequently. Thankfully, there are a number of independent certifications that can offer you reassurance.
One of these is the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. This is an independent certification, established in 1992. The aim of this certification is to show that a textile product (from bedding to clothing) poses no risk to your health.
When you buy a product with the OEKO-TEX® label, you can be reassured that it is kind to your skin, free from harmful chemical treatments. It is a vigourous testing process which gives you peace of mind, so you can buy textiles with confidence.
The closer a textile product comes to your skin, the stricter the requirements it must fulfil.
The certification goes above and beyond existing legislation, forbidding chemicals which are known to be harmful to health but not officially banned. All in all, the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 is a great quality seal to look for when you’re shopping for clothing or bed linen, particularly if you have chemical sensitivity or skin allergies.
Spundown Fire Retardant
The treatment used for fire retardant on the Spundown bedding range is a permanent phosphorous, containing fire retardant which is both REACH Registered and Oeko-Tex Class II approved.
Machine wash regularly at 60°c to keep dust mite free. Dry in a tumble dryer on low to medium heat. Add dryer or tennis balls to the dryer and shake the duvet, pillow or topper during the drying process, this will help to ensure the filling is dried equally. Store in a dry environment.
