Clean filtered water on tap throughout your home

This large 20″ space saver whole house water filter is ideal for small spaces especially when your water comes directly into a cupboard in your kitchen or another confined space somewhere in your home.  If your water pressure is high and your usage is low then you can opt for the Small 10″ Space Saving Unit

          Filter options

The 20” Pleated Pre-filter can be used in the single housing when the only problem is dirt, sand, sediment, silt, rust and other particles. See TAB for more information.

The 20” Carbon Block filter is effective at reducing any content of chlorine and chlorination by-products. Improves colour, taste and odour in the water.  Due to its block structure the filter also reduces sediments up to 10 microns.  See TAB for more information.

The 20″ Heavy Metal Cartridge removes dissolved gases and reduces Arsenic, Cadmium, Lead, Mercury and Silver.  See TAB for more information

The 20″ (Granulated Activated Carbon) GAC Cartridge is effective at reducing chlorine and improves colour, taste and odour.  Due to its granulated construction is probably better when only low pressure is available.  See TAB for more information

This very efficient 20″ Lead Removal Carbon Block filter also reduces chlorine and odour and improves taste.  See TAB for more information

The 20” NanoCeram-LRTM Series pleated filter cartridges have been designed to replace standard pleated filters but with increased capacity and efficiency down to 0.2 micron. The flow of the water is directed through the two pleated layers of Argonide’s patented media and combines high efficiency and high dirt holding capacity while providing superior flow rates at low differential pressures.  See TAB for more information.

For extra filtering of bacteria, viruses, fluoride and heavy metals from your drinking water we recommend a drinking water filter.

We recommend that the filters are changed every 6-12 months.  It can be difficult to assume that your filter will last 6 or 12 months as usage and quality of water can suggest different things.  We ask our customers to rely on what they see, smell or feel to determine when the filter should be changed.

The unit includes 15mm and 20mm Brass Fittings, a Brass Joiner, to fix the two units together, the Installation Manual and two filters of your choice.

Overall dimensions 730 x 190 x 210mm plus consideration for necessary pipework installation.

          Whole House Pre-Filter

          Large particle removal

The pre-filter cartridge takes the larger particles out protecting the carbon block and prolonging its life.

          Replacing the filters

The pre-filters may need attention every 6 months depending on the level of contamination, however it is possible to clean them to extend their lifecycle to match the carbon block filters. Take a look at our Filter Replacement Service tab for peace of mind.

          Independent quality control testing

The wholehouse filters are manufactured with ISO9001: 2000 Quality Assurance. NSF (National Sanitation Foundation), WRAS (Water Regulatory Advisory Scheme) and The Water Quality Association use a very strict set of criteria to continually monitor the filters and performance of the units.

          Replacing the filters

We recommend replacing the filters every 6-12 months or when they reach their filtration capacity, whichever is sooner. Take a look at our Filter Replacement Service tab for peace of mind.

The replacement filter is intended for cold tap water only. After the filter replacement, discard at least 10 litres of filtered water.

          Whole House Heavy Metal Filter

          General filtration

The Heavy Metal filter contains KDF which removes dissolved gases such as chlorine, hydrogen sulphide and methane, controls bacterial growth reduces levels of microorganisms and will remove virtually any soluble heavy metal – see below.

The Granulated Activated Carbon used in our Cartridges reduce Chlorine and organic contaminants.  Improves colour, taste and odour.

For use only with municipal water supply.

          Replacing the filters

We recommend replacing the filters ever 6-12 months or when they reach their filtration capacity, whichever is sooner.  Take a look at our Filter Replacement Service tab for peace of mind.

          Catalytic Carbon Cartridge

This Catalytic Carbon Cartridge is high activity granular activated carbon manufactured by steam activation of select coconut shell charcoal. The catalytic activity of this activated carbon makes it highly effective for the removal of chloramines and hydrogen sulfide from municipal water supplies. Its large micropore volume makes it particularly well suited for the removal of low molecular weight organic compounds and their chlorinated by-products such as chloroform and other trihalomethanes (THMs). An important feature of this material is its superior mechanical hardness and the extensive dedusting during its manufacture ensures an exceptionally clean activated carbon product.

          NanoCeram Filter

This filter is to be used in the final housing.

A very high specification NanoCeram-LRTM Series pleated filter has been designed to replace standard pleated filters but with increased capacity and efficiency down to 0.2 micron.

The NanoCeram-LR SeriesTM directs water flow through the two pleated layers of Argonide’s patented media and combines high efficiency and high dirt holding capacity while providing superior flow rates at low differential pressures.

These very efficient filters allow improved efficiency and increased capacity and fits into existing filter housings. The NanoCeram-LR has a single pore size of 2micron for all applications and effectively removes particulates down to 0.2 micron

Very effective in the presence of salt and high pH levels.  The pleated structure allows for very high flow rate while dealing with submicron particles such as virus, bacteria, metals, metal oxides and other difficult to remove colloidal materials. Colloidal materials are used to incorporate additional properties to a solution. A colloid can be defined as a microscopic substance that is suspended in another medium usually a liquid. Colloidal materials can remain evenly distributed in the solution without settling to the bottom or becoming dissolved.

All LR-19 components are manufactured with materials that meet FDA requirements 21CFR177.1520 for direct food contact applications

          FAQs

Where would I put it and how much room do I need to fit it?

The unit should be located as near to the water feed into the property as possible. On top of the dimensions stated above you must allow at least another 10cm of space below for changing the filters.

Do I need a separate drinking water system or can I drink the water from the whole house system?

The Wholehouse Unit does improve the quality of the water by taking out the more common contaminants. It is removing contaminants from your entire household demand and consequently high water flow. The whole house system is made to remove the most common contaminants from a high flow of water. To remove bacteria, cysts and trace organics, we recommend the addition of a drinking water system.

          Who would install the unit?

Full instructions are supplied with the unit and can be installed by someone with good DIY skills. Alternatively a local plumber should have no problem installing this unit.

Is there a water pressure drop when using a Wholehouse Unit and if so, what is it likely to be?

There can be a 5% – 10% drop in pressure depending on which cartridges you have. If you have a megaflow system or already have low pressure a flexible fitting kit can be used. If your flow rate exceeds 5.33 bar (80psi) a pressure regulator must be fitted to reduce the pressure to 70psi.

How often should I change my filters?

The pre-filter should be changed every 6 months. The carbon blocks should be changed every 6, 9, or 12 months depending on how many persons in the household. Take a look at the Filter Replacement Service tab for peace of mind. Should you require replacements earlier please let us know and we will update our records.

Does the whole house unit take out oestrogens?

Activated carbon will remove organic compounds like oestrogen. The main cartridge in the wholehouse units is made of activated carbon.

          General Information

Once you have removed the old filters, we recommend running chlorinated water through your whole house filter system for 5-10 minutes before installing the replacement filter.

Bore Holes – If you have a bore hole please contact us for both wholehouse filtration and drinking water system advice.

The pressure requirement for town pressure is 3 bar.
