Terms and Conditions

Description of Goods

We describe our products as accurately as we can. Any error or omission in any information on the site or document issued by us shall be corrected provided that the correction does not materially affect the Contract of Sale. We or our suppliers may, from time to time and without notice, change the Goods in order to comply with any applicable statutory requirements provided that such changes do not materially affect the nature or the Price of the Goods.

All of our products have all been chosen for their suitability for the allergy market but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that all our products are suitable for all customers since sensitivities are so individual. Although our ingredients are checked on a regular basis, some may change unexpectedly. Please therefore carefully check the label before use. It is important to check all ingredients on the packet or bottle before opening as opened products cannot be returned. Images not necessarily to scale. 

If the products ordered by you are not available, we will contact you and offer you the option of either ordering alternative Goods or cancelling your order. If we are unable to contact you within 28 Working Days the Contract will be deemed cancelled and any sums you have already paid to us in respect of the Goods ordered will be refunded in full.


Our delivery charges are broken down into:

  1. Free Standard Delivery on all orders.
  2. Direct Delivery applies to other products that come directly from one of our suppliers. There are some rental products that also incur a Direct Delivery charge that may come from The Healthy House offices. These charges will show up in your basket. Products with a Direct Delivery charge are not eligible to be upgraded to Next Day.
  3. Next Day Delivery is a matter of choice. If you order before 12 noon and choose Next Day Delivery your order will be sent out the same day and delivered the next day to mainland UK.*

The Next Day Delivery to these areas is normally a 48 hr (2 day) delivery.

Charges to the Islands and Highlands of Scotland, Northern Ireland and anywhere off the mainland may be light/small enough to send by post in which case we will refund the extra charge which has been calculated in your basket. We will notify you by email or phone if this is the case.

We do not deliver to America or Canada but will be happy to deliver to an address of your choice in the UK for onward shipment to North America.  Charges to the Islands and Highlands of Scotland, Northern Ireland and anywhere off the mainland may incur an extra charge if your order needs to be sent via courier. We will notify you by email or phone if this is the case.


Most orders are despatched within a few days and many go out within 24 hours of ordering. Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee the time of delivery and cannot accept responsibility for delays that are beyond our control. If you require goods to arrive at a specific time, please make sure you order well in advance. If you fail to collect your package or fail to arrange for it to be redelivered it will be returned to us and we will be charged for this return. Once we have received the uncollected package, we will inform you, usually by email, and ask you how you would like it resent. We will charge you for the original posting and the returns fees (typically £7.50 each way for one parcel). Our prices include postage from us to you one time only. We must be notified of receipt of damaged goods immediately as claims must be made promptly.

Guarantee and Returns 

We want you to be delighted with your purchase but understand that sometimes you may need to return a product. You can order with complete confidence as we guarantee to refund or exchange any product that you are not completely happy with. All we ask is that you return the product to us in its original unused condition, in its original undamaged packaging.  It is your responsibility to take “reasonable care” of the goods.  Please note that goods that are not available for resale due to hygiene reasons (i.e. bedding, clothing or masks) or cut (i.e. material) or made to order are non-returnable if opened or the seal has been broken (except for faulty workmanship).

Returns within 14 days

Within 14 days of receipt of your order you have the right to notify us in writing and cancel and return the whole order unused and in its original undamaged packaging (goods that cannot be resold due to hygiene reasons, sealed goods and those that have been cut to order or are made up to order are non-returnable unless faulty). We will refund the full purchase price within 14-days of us receiving your item back.

We reserve the right to charge a restocking charge and to charge for any goods not returned in saleable condition or exceeding the 14 day period. Please notify us before returning goods and use the returns form enclosed with your order.  It is your responsibility to cover the cost of returning the goods and to insure them for their value in case they should go astray or be damaged in transit. This does not affect your statutory rights. 

Faulty Goods

In the event that the item you have received is damaged in transit or faulty, or if a product fails within 30 days, we will replace, repair or refund. Please notify us immediately of any such problems and we will discuss our methods of returning goods. Otherwise we regret we are unable to accept any responsibility for return charges. Depending upon the product, instructions will be given to satisfy you as well as our suppliers to deal with the problem as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Outside the UK Mainland.  Your order will be checked before leaving our building to make sure that it is in good working order. Unfortunately, if it was received damaged in transit or became faulty, or if you simply decided you didn’t want it, it would have to be sent back at your own expense. I’m afraid we do not have a courier service that will pick up from outside the UK Mainland.  Please be advised that all our electrical products are supplied with UK Plugs.  

After 30 Days

It is your responsibility to take “reasonable care” of the goods. After 30 days we will need the product to be returned for inspection. We can then discuss either repairing or replacing the item. It is the customer’s responsibility to cover the cost of returning the goods and to insure them to cover the value of the item/s should they go astray or be damaged in transit.

Method of Return of Faulty Goods

Our method of return is via our Courier Return Service. Customers will be e-mailed a returns label together with a list of local places the item can be dropped off. Should this not be acceptable then the customer will be responsible to cover the cost of returning the goods and to insure them for their value in case they go astray or are damaged in transit. 

Rental agreement for the hire of detectors

  1. The rental period shall be for one week. The detector will be sent by next working day delivery so that the week will be calculated from its scheduled delivery date.
  2. If you wish to prolong the rental period for another week, please notify The Healthy House by email or telephone on the last day of the current rental period.
  3. You are responsible for returning the detector to us so that we receive it within two days of your rental period ending. 
  4. You are responsible for notifying us if the detector is not being returned so that another week’s rental can be charged. Should we not receive the detector back within two days of your rental period ending you will be charged for a further week.
  5. The detector must be sent back to The Healthy House in its original packaging including its outer box and any inserts that came with it.
  6. Please be sure that the detector is covered by insurance should it be damaged in transit or go astray.
  7. Payment for rental must be made by credit or debit card on the understanding that if we do not receive the detector back or if it is returned damaged the customer will be charged for the full retail price of the unit or, if applicable, for the cost of repair. Since payments on our website are on a secure site, we do not have access to your card details. When we receive an order for rental, we will phone you to obtain your card details. These details will be entered into the vault of our secure payment site for safekeeping and will be deleted from that site once the detector is returned and any outstanding charges (if applicable) have been paid.
  8. If the detector gets damaged in transit it is the customer’s responsibility to claim compensation from the Post Office or carrier.


The Price to be paid by you is that displayed on the Site at the time when your order is received by us. In the event that we discover a genuine error in the Price for the Goods ordered by you as displayed on the Site, we shall notify you as soon as possible providing you the option of either reconfirming the order at the correct Price or cancelling the order. If we are unable to contact you for the purposes within 10 Working Days or if you fail to either reconfirm or cancel the order within this period, your order will be deemed to be cancelled and any payment will be refunded in full.

All Prices are quoted inclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated, and in pounds sterling.


Payment for the Goods is due at the time of placing your order. Payment is to be made on our Secure Site by one of the following credit or debit cards: MasterCard, Visa, Maestro, Solo or American Express. PayPal is also accepted for those customers who hold a personal PayPal account.  Payment will be taken when your order is processed and prior to despatch. 

Risk and Title of Goods

Ownership of the Goods shall pass to you once they have been fully paid for and on delivery. Risk of damage to or loss of the Goods shall pass to you at the time of delivery to the Delivery Address. 


Nothing in these Conditions excludes or limits our liability for negligence. We shall not be liable for any losses under the Contract which were not foreseeable to us at the time when the Contract was made and/or relate to any business undertaken by you and/or were not caused by any breach of the Contract by us or our employees.

Force Majeure

We shall be not liable to you or deemed to be in breach of this Sales Contract by reason of any delay in performing, or any failure to perform, any of our obligations in relation to the Sales Contract, if the delay or failure was due to any cause beyond our reasonable control such as (but without limitation) any strike, lock-out or other form of industrial action, failure of a utility service or transport network, act of God, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage, compliance with any law or government order, rule, regulation or direction, accident, breakdown of plant or machinery, fire, flood, storm or default of supplier or sub-contractors or inability to obtain materials required for performance of the Sales Contract.

Third party rights

A person who is not a party to the Contract will not have any rights under or in connection with it by virtue of the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.


If any provision of these Conditions is held by any competent authority to be invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part the validity of the other provisions of these Conditions shall remain in full force and effect.


If either you or us fail or delay or compromise in exercising a right or remedy under the Contract, the right or remedy is not to be treated as having been waived, restricted or varied and any agreement by either you or us to refrain from exercising a right in one particular instance will not prevent you or us from exercising it in full in the future.

Cumulative Remedies

All rights and remedies available to either you or us under the terms of the Contract or under the general law are to be cumulative, and no exercise by either you or us of any such right or remedy is to restrict or prejudice the exercise of any other right or remedy granted by the Contract or otherwise available to you or us.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

The Contract shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and any court proceedings in relation to the Contract are to be brought in the English Courts.
