Reading the site
The reading pages have no advertising trackers, analytics tags, newsletter forms, reader accounts or contact forms. Fonts and illustrations are served with the site. Guide checklists work in your browser; ticks are not submitted to us or stored by the site.
Cloudflare hosts and protects the website. Delivering a page involves processing technical information such as your IP address and the request for that page. Search terms are included in the address of the guide library page, so please do not put personal information in a search. Cloudflare describes its processing of website visitors’ information in its privacy policy.
If you contact us
If you write to us, we receive the contact details, message and supporting information you choose to provide. We use this information to respond to your enquiry, investigate a correction or deal with a privacy request.
We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and maintaining a reliable, secure publication. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and keep an appropriate record of the response. A legal requirement or an unresolved complaint may require a longer period.
Where information is processed
Cloudflare operates a global network, so technical information may be processed outside the United Kingdom. Its data processing addendum describes the safeguards it provides for international transfers. Contact us if you would like information about the arrangements that apply to your enquiry.
Editorial administration
The CMS is for authorised editors. Sign in uses account information and necessary authentication cookies or sessions. It is separate from reading the public guides. Access to the editorial system is restricted.
